When Beck Beckons

Went to meet Glenn Beck Saturday night in Providence. What a surprise, a pleasant surprise, at the turnout. People of all flavors yet of equal thought. Certainly not in a bad way; rather the American way.

Met our Governor and his lovely wife. Sort of reminded me of Barbara Bush. Is that an insult? Not at all. Like Glenn Beck she carried herself gracefully with confidence and dignity.

Outside, the 11 token protesters. The chant went thusly, "Don and Glenn, Go Away! Racist, sexist, anti-gay!"

Really.

Is this the best they could do?

To prove that God exists, the protestant bullhorn went dead and had been granted Extreme Unction about five minutes before the barker became aware of his situation.

Hilarity for free.

Met a group of high-school Conservatives. Great people, great time.

The Unruly Mob was anything but. Police estimates put the crowd at 800. As the tea-party attendees fully understand that number was low. At least 1,000. Likely more.
