I wonder if anyone at the the Los Angeles Times finds this sub-headline on their op-ed page just a tiny bit insulting to the memory of Mary Jo Kopechne:
The late senator was a man who reached out when it mattered most, who let us know we weren't alone.
Except that one time . . .
